FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING

His Excellency, Bishop Pío Carlos Espina Leupold, visiting the Philippines and the Asian Missions from October 12 to November 2, 2023, confirmed a total of fifteen faithful in Manila (Las Piñas City Mission). A Photo Album was created to commemorate the historic visit and as a means to impart the many insights learned from His Excellency. It may be viewed here.

FEBRUARY 02, 2020
FEAST OF THE PURIFICATION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

A small image of Our Lady of Good Success, a replica of the original statue in Quito, Ecuador, was ‘enthroned’ at the altar of the Chapel. The Mission made a nine-day novena in Her honor from January 24 up to February 01, 2020 in humble thanksgiving for the all graces that She obtained, and will still obtain, for the growing Philippines and Asia- Pacific Mission.

[Left] Rev. Fr. Alexander Kryssov blessing the candles before Mass.
[Right] A first at the Mission: The priest blesses the faithful with the image of the Holy Infant Jesus [taken from the Christmas manger]. A [farewell] veneration followed by kissing the feet of the Divine Infant. Father explained that this is a traditional custom [at least in Europe], and a beautiful and remarkable way to close the Christmas season [as the Baby Jesus is then processed out of the sanctuary area – to be brought in [only] again on Christmas day].
This was the first time we had this ceremony at the Chapel – and it was indeed very beautiful! This custom /devotion can be a humble means to offer some reparation to Our Lord Whose Divinity and Incarnation are not just forgotten, but even despised and rejected by the modern world.

OUR LADY OF REFUGE

An image of the Blessed Mother enfolding Her children under Her mantle
greets the faithful as they enter the Chapel.
(The statue was commissioned by a kind and devout woman from Australia.)
